- Review the municipality’s master plan for clearer policy, simpler processes and transparency
- Make significant improvements to recycling stations in the municipality
- Increase value creation in waste management, e.g. with an incineration solution for non-recyclable waste at Strönd
- Establish cooperation with Veitur to search for geothermal water in the municipality
- Plan future solutions for sewage systems in Hvolsvöllur and Skógar
- Undertake systematic maintenance and metering of cold water utilities
- Develop a detailed plan for a new industrial area in Hvolsvöllur
- Plan residential and commercial development at Skógar
- Continue to support landowners in developing tourist sites
- Complete the allocation of plots within national lands
- Set up a pilot project with the state for municipal maintenance of district and connecting roads
