A new and impressive preschool was opened in Hvolsvöllur in the last term. Young people of secondary school age must have the option of pursuing further education in their home community, requiring active dialogue with FSu about boarding and transport.
- Introduce free meals in preschool, as already implemented in primary school
- Introduce free preschool in stages
- Align working days and closing days between school levels as far as possible
- Review transport subsidies for rural preschool children to benefit more families
- Begin an extension to Hvolsskóli in good consultation with the community
- Strengthen the work school and explore opening applications to youth from outside the municipality
- Push for public transport to be a real option for secondary school students
- Place strong emphasis on good and safe boarding at FSu
- Support the professional work of Hvolsskóli and Öldunni to the greatest extent
- Increase Icelandic language teaching for residents of foreign origin
